HP Spectre 13 launched in India: Features & Photos- The thinnest laptop as of now.
HP Spectre 13 is not the average laptop you see in most people’s possession. The 10.4 mm thin laptop is said to be the slimmest laptop in the world. The previous record was for Asus ZenBook 3 which was 11.9 mm thick.
This premium device can blow your mind with its beauty & power packed performance. Here’s our review.
HP Spectre 13 has fine finish & is manufactured using carbon fibre & aluminium alloy which is definitely done to reduce weight. As the HP Spectre 13 weighs just 1.1 kg(MacBook: 0.92kg & Asus ZenBook 3: 0.91kg) the specification seems to be more like gimmick. But later we found out (you also will) the reason behind the added weight.
The HP Spectre 13 has a 13.3 inch Backlit LED display with is FHD capable & having a 0.4mm thick Gorilla Glass on top. The crisp colours reproduced on screen deserves praise too. The laptop has island type keyboard layout, well spaced & having LED lighting that makes the typing experience complete.

The hinges on the laptop are top class, it feels like a classic fortress door hinges. The whole body of laptop has that copper plated colour & black. Its guaranteed, you can’t take eyes off it.
Technically, the specs are top-notch. The HP Spectre 13 comes loaded with Windows 10 Pro 64bit right from the box, powered by Intel Core i5 or i7(depending on price) & an 8GB LPDDR3 RAM. The internals completed with the addition of a 512GB SSD( 256GB in i5 variant).
Either side of Keyboard has Dual B&O stereo speakers & this is the perfect sound I’ve heard from a laptop. You can fine tune the sound using B&O app from the Control Panel. But although the sound is clear, the volume levels aren’t good. It should’ve been a little more louder.
The battery wasn’t tested but HP claims that the Battery will be enough to power the laptop for atleast 9 hours. The highlight of connectivity & ports was the three USB-C ports, used for charging & for plugging in removable drives. It has the usual Headphone jack too.
HP also debuted a new cooling technology in HP Spectre 13.They call it HyperBaric cooling system. It is said to not only blow heat away from the machine, but also draws in cool air & recirculate it to the processor. This ensures that peak performance is maintained all the time.
Here’s what Rajiv Srivastava of HP India has to say about HP Spectre 13:
“HP as India’s technology leader aims to make life better, productive and more fun. We are at the forefront of delivering industry-leading innovation and HP’s Spectre 13 is a beautifully crafted Notebook and a reflection of what many millennials aspire to be — exceptional, cool, dazzling, standing out from the crowd, but making an impact.”
The HP Spectre 13 faces direct competition from Asus ZenBook 3 & MacBook. The Spectre 13 available at a price of ₹1,20,000. The price isn’t big, considering the whole lot features & craftsmanship of this laptop.
